We just got back from three days in Antigua. We took a 'chicken bus' about an hour or so to Antigua. The chicken bus rides are pretty interesting. They are basically a school bus painted all sorts of crazy colors. They cram as many people in them as possible, at one point there was probably close to 120 people in our bus. Not only is that crazy, but also the way the driver (and every other driver on the road) drives. They drive like race car drivers, flooring it, and then slamming on the breaks in order to avoid broadsiding a semi making a U turn across a couple lanes of traffic. Kind of scary, but we made it OK.

Antigua is a really cool town. The architecture is all old (colonial i guess) and the roads are cobblestoned. There is a huge volcano just south of town that dominates the landscape. Nancy and I had a great time checking out all the ruins, old churches, and cafes around town.

Brian,

Just got back from visiting your mom. It's a perfect fall day in RC - the cottonwood leaves are golden in the late afternoon sun.

It was great to hear your news - love the pictures too. Take care and hi to Nancy.
